We encourage writing organizations & community groups to apply to participate! You are welcome to display information about your group, bring an activity or just make connections with festival-goers.

The 2025 Oil Region Festival of the Book will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025 from 10:00AM – 2:00PM in the Central Ave. Plaza (in front of the Oil City Library) in Oil City, PA.

Authors & organizations must apply by July 18th, 2025 to participate in the event. We will release a full list of participating authors & organizations in early August 2025.

Rain & books don’t mix! If the forecast predicts rain during the time of the event, we will reach out to participating authors & organization contacts ASAP to notify them. In this event, we will reschedule the Oil Region Festival of the Book for a date in the Fall of 2025. Keep an eye on this page, as well as our social media, for more information!

Authors & groups should register here by July 18th, 2025 to be eligible to participate. A staff member will reach out to you via email to confirm your spot!

A $20.00 non-refundable participation fee will be charged to selected authors to offset event costs. Authors will be notified of the charge after registration via a confirmation email.

Writing groups, community groups & non-profits will not be charged to participate.

Yes, we always have local food vendors participate in the Festival of the Book. However, they may not accept credit/debit cards, so we recommend bringing cash!
