Make a Monster Workshop

Spooky Season is upon us! Join teaching artist Tracey Lander-Garrett for a look at scary stories and what makes them so deliciously frightening. Is it all a metaphor? Participants will read excerpts from a variety of sources, from Shelley to Tolkien to King. Our discussion will be about monsters and what makes them so monstrous. In our writing activity, we will create our own monsters (bring your dice, nerds) and then write (and maybe share) stories about them (with the lights off). Free and open to teens and adults, ages 13 and up.

The event is finished.
